Nuorgam

Nuorgam is the northernmost village in Finland. Nuorgam is located on the bank of the Teno River near the Norwegian border, 45 kilometers from Utsjoki. The Arctic region is the world's northernmost inhabited area, where the diverse entity of nature ranges from vast snowy expanses to green tundra, the icy sea, and high mountain peaks.

The region's indigenous population has adapted to life in connection with nature, preserving the rich natural resources for future generations, which must continue to be cherished.
The Sámi are the only indigenous people of the European Union, living in four countries: Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Russia. Traditional livelihoods such as reindeer herding, hunting, fishing, small-scale agriculture, and the collection of natural products, as well as Sámi handicrafts, form the foundation of Sámi culture. Animals and nature have always been an important part of the Sámi way of life.
